The Architecture of the Universities
of Leicester
The publication describes the buildings of the University of Leicester and De Montfort University within the city and environs of Leicester.

The text, with over 400 mainly colour illustrations, details the history, architecture, names, local context and current use of all major buildings on each campus; the imaginative development plans for both universities are illustrated.
Leicester - Paintings and sketches A book by one of Leicester’s best known architects and artists will not only bring delight to all those who know and love Leicester, but also hope to the region’s cancer sufferers, since all profits from sales will go to the charity Hope Against Cancer, formerly known as The Hope Foundation for Cancer Research.

Lord Attenborough wrote in the foreword to the original book, which forms part of the new publication: Douglas Smith has captured a love of Leicester which reflects its historic past, rejoices in the diversity of its present and heralds its optimism for the future.
